IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (10/13/25) "Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana" In this day and age, there are so many activities and distractions that take time away from a student-athlete who is working to improve in one or several sports. Classwork can be challenging, family and community obligations are important to prioritize, and having some free time with friends is key to balance. I have an important piece of advice to help with balancing all of these obligations. Put down your devices (phone, tablets and gaming devices) and reduce your screen time with them. We are all guilty of picking up a device and then time seems to fly by. If you want to be in better condition (and better prepared) for your sport or get a better grade in a class, guess what? Spend that time you save by reducing screen time and put it toward those other goals! All content property of Billy Shepherd Sports
