The IHSAA has released the Sectional pairings for the 53rd Annual IHSAA Football State Tournament presented by the Indianapolis Colts. In a tournament field featuring 310 total teams, the Michigan City Wolves will travel to Valparaiso on Friday, October 31st in Game 1 of Sectional 10 (5A). With a win, Michigan City will play the La Porte vs. Chesterton winner in the Sectional Championship Friday on11/7. Sectionals Class 6A-5A: Oct. 31; Nov. 7, 2025. Class 4A-1A: Oct. 24, 31; Nov. 7, 2025. Times: 7 pm local time or as determined by host school. Admission: $8 per person. Children age 5 and younger admitted free. Sectional 10 (5A) Game 1 – Friday, October 31st, 2025: Michigan City @ Valparaiso - 7pm start time Game 2 – Friday, October 31st, 2025: La Porte @ Chesterton - 7pm start time Game 3 – Friday, November 7th, 2025: SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: G1 winner vs. G2 winner - 7pm start time Determining Home Team First Round: The second-named team in the blind draw is host school unless the two teams agree to switch the site. Semifinals: The team without a home game will host. Exception: The bye team will always be the visitor. If both teams were hosts or both were visitors, the second-named team in the quarter bracket will host. In 6A and 5A – In the four team sectionals, the second named team will host. Championships: Host team will be the team that has played the most away games. If both teams have played the same number of away games, the bottom bracket team shall host.
