Members of the Wolves Distance Track team competed in the West Lafayette Individuals on Friday March 6th. The meet was hosted at Purdue University’s historic Lambert Fieldhouse. Newcomer, Junior Kristina Sydoruk, kicked off her track and field career with top times for the Michigan City girls in both the 800 and 1600. Junior Veronica Barnes launched her season with PR’s in both events. Sophomore Isabella Serrano crushed her previous PR time in the 1600 by 12 seconds. Senior Deandre Kirkland rounded out the PR’s with a time drop in the 1600. All the members of the team got in high quality early season runs. The Wolves are next in action on Saturday March 14th at the Northwest Indiana Championship at Portage High School.
