Michigan City Boys and Girls Swimming & Diving Fall to LaPorte

The Wolves opened the 2025–2026 swim and dive season tonight against LaPorte. While the final score went in favor of LaPorte, there were a lot of encouraging moments and strong swims to build on moving forward. This year’s roster is one of the smallest we’ve had in recent years, with just three boys and five girls, not including divers. Even with limited numbers, this group continues to show up every day ready to work. Their progress is clear already, as almost every swimmer improved their times from our November 20 time trials to tonight’s meet, with several personal bests as well. We also announced our team leadership this evening. Senior Jaren Swindell will serve as the boys team captain, and seniors Maddy Parry and Emmaleigh Kempf will serve as co-captains for the girls. One of the biggest highlights of the night came from the girls relay teams. They opened the meet by taking first place in the 200 yard medley relay with the lineup of Batoul Achy, Maddy Parry, Emmaleigh Kempf, and Audrey Hardacker. Later in the night, the girls claimed another first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay with Audrey Hardacker, Maddy Parry, Olivia Swistek, and Emmaleigh Kempf. For the boys team, the swim of the night goes to freshman Jayce Swindell, who earned a personal best in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.79. He stepped up and delivered a strong early-season performance. Even though our boys team is currently unable to field relays, every swimmer on this roster entered the water tonight with determination and focus. In just the first month of training, we are already seeing significant improvement and a strong competitive spirit. We are proud of the start this team has made and look forward to continued growth as the season continues. The next Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving Meet is Saturday December 6th against New Prairie at 10:00 A.M. Go Wolves.
